An exciting opportunity for a Credit Risk Tester to be part of a highly innovative forward thinking online challenger bank as it moves into its next phase of growth. Reporting directly into the Head of Credit Risk, this role will support the delivery, implementation, testing, and ongoing management of credit risk system & changes including scorecards, lending strategies.
We are looking for a detail-oriented person with experience in managing Credit Risk changes and working in a fast paced, high-volume consumer credit risk environment. The successful candidate will work closely with Technology teams to ensure all changes are accurately implemented, tested, documented, and deployed in line with governance and regulatory requirements.
Job Description
- Support the implementation and maintenance of scorecards, lending strategies, and underwriting rules, working with internal stakeholders to deliver Credit Risk systems changes accurately and on time.
- Coordinate and execute UAT, regression testing, and post-implementation validation.
- Produce test scripts, implementation documentation, defect logs, and test completion reports.
- Perform data analysis and validation using SQL and Microsoft Excel.
- Support bureau-related change activity, involving Equifax bureau data attributes as appropriate.
- Identify opportunities to improve strategies. E.g. reduce acquisition costs such as bureau costs.
- Maintain strong governance, controls, and audit trail documentation for all change activities.
Key Skill Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience of Credit Risk, Credit Risk Systems, or Strategy Implementation roles, ideally within retail credit or financial services. E.g. Loans or Credit card market.
- Maths or finance-related degree or proven experience at a senior/lead analyst level.
- Experience implementing & testing scorecards, lending strategies, affordability rules, and policy changes.
- Background using analytics tools (e.g. SQL, SAS, Python) and experience working with large data sets.
- Advanced excel skills. (E.g. Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, conditional formatting, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience of converting complex analytics in simple language for senior-stakeholders to support business decisions.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for accuracy.
- Experience working in a FCA regulated environment with knowledge of FS regulation.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of ambiguity.
- Experience working with Credit Bureau data ideally Equifax.
